Emotion-Focused Therapy

Emotions tell the story of our lives. They guide our relationships, shape our decisions, and often influence us long before we're consciously aware of them.

How EFT Works

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps you understand those emotions instead of fighting them. And even more, it helps you change and shift those automatic emotional patterns so you can align with who you feel you are.

Together with your therapist, you'll explore the emotional experiences beneath your distress, often uncovering painful patterns that developed long ago and continue to influence your life today. Rather than simply learning how to cope with difficult emotions, you'll work toward transforming the emotional experiences that created them.

What to Expect in Session

Sessions are compassionate, collaborative, and paced to meet you where you are. You won't be asked to relive painful experiences before you're ready. Instead, your therapist helps you gradually make sense of your emotional world while supporting meaningful, lasting change.

Who It Can Help

Emotion-Focused Therapy can be helpful for individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, emotion dysregulation, eating disorders, and many of the emotional challenges that arise from difficult life experiences.
